De la Pole, Lecture Theatre – Hull
Smith Smalley were engaged to design a new lecture theatre facility, in Hull.
Simplicity was employed in the elegant external forms and to order the internal spaces they enclose.
Vernacular materials (red brick and clay pantiles) were used to construct the external envelope. Use of a steel frame allowed uninterrupted internal spaces, treated with a crisp clean, contemporary white palette of finishes.
