Student accommodation – Burley Rd, Leeds
The project involved the design of 307 student apartments and 3 small retail units with undercroft parking. Working in association with Chinacorp, SSA overcame the problems of a difficult angular site with a building that in parts reaches 10 storeys. This allowed the client to maximise the potential of the site, which is close to the city centre, by providing a dramatic increase to its overall density. The project is a good example of what can be achieved with the disciplined and controlled use of lightweight cladding materials.
