Tesco store for restricted Long Eaton site
Working in association with Taylor Woodrow Construction, SSA provided Tesco with a large new store, 110,000 sq ft (gross) sales area, within a constrained site using the much replicated ‘store-on-stilts' design principle. This first required the demolition of a redundant gas works and the regeneration of a brownfield site on the edge of the town centre. For maximum space utilisation, car parking is directly under the store, which has become a business model for future Tesco ‘store-on-stilts' projects. The outlet has an impressive full height atrium showcasing pedestrian circulation, and high performance modular cladding to its rear and sides.
