Smith Smalley Celebrate Planning Appeal Successes

Over the last year, SSA has worked diligently to obtain a significant number of planning approvals on behalf of our clients and have been rewarded with two significant approvals won at ‘appeal' this spring.

With the support of Smith Smalley architects, Tesco have successfully challenged planning refusals at Padiham and Ilkiey.

Both schemes were initially refused by local planning authority planning committees and following more than a year's effort by the respective teams, both decisions have been overturned by the planning inspectors.

These decisions pave the way for the following developments to be delivered:

Padiham:
A new 45,000 sq.ft. tesco store by Maple Grove developments.

Ilkley:
A replacement 80,000 sq.ft. tesco store together with a mixed-use scheme for offices, a care home and business units on an existing tesco site and adjacent land.
