RIBA Yorkshire Student Awards
Smith Smalley Architects' prides itself on running an excellent student program, where Architects and Technologists are able to study towards RIBA, CIAT and other industry significant qualifications. This time of year is always a celebratory one, with course progress reports and graduations.
This year special mention has to go to Alex Hargreaves who completed his degree in architecture obtaining a 1st Class Honours at Leeds Metropolitan University, after a well earned break from studying, Alex intends to complete a Masters at Sheffield University.
We are proud of Alex as he gained his 1st Class Degree, whilst studying on a part-time basis.
Alex's degree dissertation was submitted to the RIBA Yorkshire Student Competition held between Leeds Met, Sheffield Hallam, Sheffield University and Huddersfield University, where the top dissertations in the area are judged.
We are very pleased to announce that at the RIBA Yorkshire Student Awards Ceremony, Alex won the only Gold Award of the evening! This is a huge achievement and we are very proud of the work he is continuing to do.
His designs have now been entered to the national awards and we wish him the best of luck!
