Smith Smalley celebrate first Irish Tesco planning approval...

...in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.

SSA have been working with the Belfast based Tesco development team in NI to provide much needed additional sales floor space and a modern store in Coleraine.

Following several months of discussions with the local authority a favourable decision was reached by committee early February.

 

The existing 35,000sqft store, suffering from frequent floods and limited modern technologies will be replaced, on the current site, with a new 80,000sqft net sales food store. The new store will provide additional jobs to the area, and customers will benefit from covered car parking, additional facilities and a new customer cafe offering views across the adjacent River Bann. The store on stilts will have fully glazed facades to the main frontage and a mix of timber, cladding and glazing with the sales floor split across two levels within the store, maximising net sales within the constraints of a town centre site.

 

Smith Smalley have a number of other retail schemes currently progressing through the planning process in Northern Ireland.”
