Town Centre Redevelopment completed...

SSA are delighted to announce the completion of the mixed use redevelopment of Madeley Town Centre. Whilst the market town centre is surrounded by listed buildings and a World Heritage Site it had become run down and disconnected from the High Street.

Proposals were required to provide modern retail facilities, a link between the High Street and the east of the town centre and the creation of new public spaces and a new heart to the town centre.The development includes 14 no affordable apartments designed to attain Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 and SDS compliance. The apartments are constructed over 55,000 sq ft of new retail space with a further 25,500 sq ft of retail space provided alongside a 45,000 sq ft food superstore.A new 310 space town centre car park has been provided whilst the public realm has been improved, the proposals are centred around 2 pedestrian squares and a pedestrianised retail street.

 Improvements have also been made to the existing library with upgraded entrance and vertical circulation provided. The majority of the retail space is already trading and the redevelopment has succeeded in revitalising Madeley town centre.
